Who may participate
The BASECAMP| Heart Fitness Program is available for individuals who have completed a Phase 2 Cardiac Rehabilitation program, those who have risk factors for cardiovascular disease or a history of coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, or metabolic syndrome. A physician referral is necessary to participate.
The BASECAMP| Heart Fitness Program occurs in the Center for Prevention and Wellness on the first floor of the Mother Joseph Plaza on the campus of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. An initial assessment is necessary before beginning.
Our professionally supervised exercise program is maintained by clinical exercise specialists. Exercise therapy includes the use of treadmills, stationary bikes, stationary elliptical bikes, arm ergometers, weights and resistance bands. Blood pressure and heart rate are checked by staff before exercise and is recorded for the patient’s records. Open gym hours are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00-10:00 am and 3:00-5:00 pm.
Most health insurers do not provide coverage for the BASECAMP| Heart Fitness Program, but some do. Participants should check their insurance coverage before beginning. Fees of $60 are billed monthly.
