Dr. James Beckerman, medical director for prevention + wellness at the Providence Heart Institute, speaks about our Heal it Forward initiative at TEDx Peachtree.

We believe that doing good
makes people feel better.

Research studies show that volunteering helps improve our self-esteem, social connectedness, and self-efficacy. Your choices matter when other people are counting on you. Volunteering also lowers our risk of heart disease, regardless of risk factors, socioeconomic level, gender, or age.

That's why Basecamp creates opportunities for our community members to give back. Our Heal It Forward initiative is woven into each program offered through Basecamp Prevention + Wellness as we help you reconsider the "help" in "self-help." We look forward to healing it forward with you!

How can you Heal It Forward this year?

We’ve built a list of local organizations who are always looking for volunteers for short term and long term commitments. You can also take a look at our current volunteer events scheduled - we would love to have you join us!

We celebrate our Heal It Forward endeavors and those who take time from their own lives to help touch the lives of others. Here are a few of the volunteer events from over the years.
